College Majors
Pre Law
Wow! Are you excited to start your adventure on becoming a lawyer? Pre-law might just be the major for you with a $66,000 average salary according to Payscale. But, consider a few things first before you commit yourself to four years of law before law school.
1. You don’t have to be a pre-law major to go to law school. Plenty of people go to law school with a bachelor's degree in an area that gives them an alternative backup plan especially when many lower level legal jobs are being outsourced.
2. Law School is expensive, with six figure student loans required. Add that on top of a pre-law BA degree and you’re going to really need the salary of an attorney to pay that off.
3. Are you really prepared for life as a lawyer? If you really do make it to the top in such a competitive field, corporate or private, you’re in for a stressful and long work week. Lawyers work hard for insane amounts of time each week.
